| Designed to provide superior anti-fragmentation protection and protection against 9mm handgun rounds at government required velocities. Paired with the SAPI it provides protection against NATO 7.62x51mm M-80 Ball, Soviet 7.62x54R Ball and U.S. 5.56mm M855 Ball at government required velocities. The multiple layers of tough aramid material in the OTV combined with the ceramic/composite SAPI provide an armored barrier against mines, grenades, mortar fire, artillery fire, and small arms fire. A projectile may penetrate the SAPI and the outer layers of the OTV, but it is slowed and eventually stopped by the inner layers and thus prevented from piercing the protection of the armor system.
